In 2019, Kathy discovered a manuscript entitled The Hayseed DA, written by her father,
Robert R. Meehan, detailing memorable and compelling events that occurred
during his service as District Attorney of Rockland County from 1966 through
1974. Upon discovering the manuscript, which was written in the late 1970’s,
Kathy took on the project of editing and researching the book as a final gift
to her father who died in 2004. She was able to successfully shepherd the
retitled Confessions of a Hayseed DA
through to publication by Excelsior Divisions of SUNY Press earlier this year.
Kathleen Meehan Do has had a successful and rewarding career
as a communications specialist, serving in the administrations of NY Gov. Mario
M. Cuomo, PA Congressman Joseph Sestak, and Rockland County Legislature
Chairwoman Harriet Cornell, as well as college presidents in New York and New
Jersey. She also served as Executive Director of After-The-Bell, a not-for-profit
organization that provides after-school programming for middle school students.
In addition, she has served as an elected member of the Unionville-Chadds Ford
(PA) School Board.
