Our book this month will be
The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer, which is now also a movie on Netflix.
An adaptation for young readers of a New York Times best-selling memoir follows the experiences of 14-year-old William Kamkwamba, who built a windmill out of junkyard scraps to bring electricity to his famine-stricken Malawi village. Great for teens interested in STEM!
Note: The first 5 teens to sign up at the adult reference desk will
get a free copy of the book. We will have single-serving snacks and
drinks for teens at the meeting.
