Join Marvin Goldsmith, author of "Marvin's Book of Great Passover Recipes," for a demonstration of simple kosher foods that are appropriate for Passover.

Passover commemorates the Exodus of the Jews from their bondage in Egypt. Because of their hasty retreat, there was no time for bread to rise. Consequently, unleavened bread or matzo is the prominent ingredient of the foods eaten during this holiday. Many creative recipes have been developed using only permitted foods. In addition, according to Kosher rules, meat and dairy products may not be consumed together.

This presentation will demonstrate the preparation of several traditional foods: Haroset (2 types), a Passover quiche or pie, and a dessert (macaroons, or cookies).

Marvin Goldsmith enjoys cooking and considers himself a "foodie."  He published his first cookbook in December, 2017. All foods served at this presentation will be Kosher.
